Claire L. (Tanguay) Chapdelaine, age 98, passed away on April 17, 2019 at the Willimansett East Nursing Home in Chicopee. She was born on March 8, 1921 in Chicopee, a daughter of the late Alberic and Emma (Dery) Tanguay. Claire was a communicant of St Rose de Lima parish. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann and President of the Over 60 Club in Chicopee. She worked as an administrative assistant for the City of Chicopee for 16 years before she retired. Claire is predeceased by her husband Maurice Chapdelaine who passed away in 1994. She is survived by her son Claude M. Chapdelaine and his wife Sheila of West Springfield along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings Jean, Maurice, Leo, Euclide, Alfred, Bertha, Bernadette, Rita, Theresa, Annette and Rose. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise` Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Rose de Lima Church at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St Rose de Lima Cemetery.
