PORTER - Howard Cady, 93, of Porter died at his home surrounded by loving family on April 22, 2019. He was born in Portland on January 23, 1926 and raised by Howard and Caroline (Barton) Littlefield in Brownfield, Maine. He was educated in Brownfield schools and also attended Porter High School. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He also re-enlisted and served during Korea in the Army Air Corps.
Howard was always a hard worker and had several jobs over the years. He worked for many years at G.T.E. Sylvania in Standish, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of the Kezar Falls Assembly of God, and also the Sebago Church of the Nazarene. His faith, studying scripture, and his church families were very important to him. Howard enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors as a younger man. He also liked reading, doing puzzles and had a great love for animals. Spending time with his wife Evelyn, his children, and his grandchildren meant the most to him.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 64 years, Evelyn (Archer) Cady. Six children: Debbie Cavanaugh and husband Philip, Scott Cady, Mary Ross and husband Jeff, Lisa Eastman and husband Johnny, Sylvia Hill-Cady, and Sally Pendexter and fiance Mike Virgin. 7 grandchildren: Melody, Tazia, Ashton, Lexey, Courtney, Cassie and Gavin. Also 2 great grandchildren, Destiny and Joseph.
There will be an hour of visitation on Saturday, April 27, from 12 to 1 p.m. immediately followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at the Kezar Falls Assembly of God, Rt. 25, Parsonsfield.
