Augustine (Augie) C. Correia of Abington, passed away Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the age of 77. He was the beloved husband, of 50 years, to Helen M. (Leondike) Correia.
Born March 23, 1942 in Boston, he was the son of the late Charles Correia and Jennie (Pasquantonio) Correia.
Raised in East Boston he graduated from East Boston High School. He later moved to Randolph with his parents and spent his adult life residing in Abington.
Augie thoroughly enjoyed his career as an operating engineer and was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #4 for 50 years. He liked talking politics, American history and sports.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and he will be deeply missed. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Leondike) Correia; his daughter Carol (Correia) McDonough and her husband Rob McDonough of East Bridgewater; his son Derek A. Correia of Abington; his grandchildren Ryan, Matt, and Alex; his brother Robert Correia and his wife Donna Correia of Revere; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Saturday April 27 at 9:00 am in St. Bridget Church, 455 Plymouth Street, Abington followed by burial at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington. By request all other services are omitted.
