SOUTH HADLEY ~ Steven B. Vlohiotis, 66, of South Hadley, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, April 20, 2019. He passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on August 11, 1952, a beloved son of the late Stephen and Lillianne (Brin) Vlohiotis. He was raised in Holyoke, graduated from Holyoke High School where he lived for many years until moving to South Hadley in 2010. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He was the owner and operator of Route 5 Motors in Holyoke and previously was a home improvement contractor which he ran as Steve V’s Remodeling. He leaves his beloved companion of 24 years, Dale Ann Marshall of South Hadley; his three loving daughters, Heather A. Rogers of Feeding Hills, Leslie Hunter of Chicopee and Robin Watt of Springfield; his seven cherished grandchildren, Kiley, Cassidy, Nicholas, Alyssa, Kyle, Halle and Jalen; his dear sister, Deborah Grady of Washington; his dear brother, Bruce Vlohiotis and his wife, Karen, of Ludlow; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Vlohiotis, Brin and Marshall families. His funeral will be held on Friday morning, April 26, 2019 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 10 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will be private at the convenience of the family. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. before the Mass. The parking lot is in the rear of the funeral home.
