FAIRHAVEN — Anita Cornell Brown, of Fairhaven passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Our Lady’s Haven.
She was the wife of the late Theodore M. Brown and Robert C. Pickett Sr., and daughter of the late Caroline and Thomas Cornell of Cuttyhunk.
Anita is survived by her sister Cecilie C. Potter of Mattapoisett, nieces C. Leslie Gray and Alicia Potter, nephews Thomas Lewis and Caleb C. Potter. She was predeceased by sister Carolyn C. Borges, brother Richard 0. Cornell and niece Marilyn Oliveira.
Over the years, Anita was active with the N.B. Whaling Museum, Board of Directors of the Cuttyhunk Church, N.B. Animal Rescue League, American Cancer Society, served as Treasurer of the Cuttyhunk Bass club and Recording Secretary for the first Cuttyhunk International Swordfish Tournament, and an advisor with Junior Achievement NBGE (Com Elec.) and served on the Com Elec. Blood Bank Committee, and also active with Cuttyhunk Historical Society. Anita was a graduate of Cuttyhunk Elementary School, Fairhaven High School and Kenyon Business School.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Cuttyhunk Church or Cuttyhunk Library.
