Jenny Rivera Castro, 57, of Hartford Connecticut past away peacefully on April 14th, 2019 in East Windsor Connecticut. She was the beloved daughter of the late Joaquin Rivera Diaz and Serafina Castro Rivera of Humacao, Puerto Rico.
Born in Humacao, Jenny moved to the United States in the 80’s to make a new life for her and her children. Jenny is survived by her children Eric Joel Ortiz, his wife Sandra and their children Jeannalys and Eric, of East Hartford, CT. Her daughter Joselyn Ortiz and her children William, Nevaeh, and Brian of Hartford CT. Her son Jayson Ortiz and his fiancé Ricardo Hildago. And her son, Edwin Benitez of Springfield, MA. Besides her children Jenny is survived by her sisters Nilda, Marciana, Zenaida, and Carmen, her brothers Benito and Joaquin, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Jenny was predeceased by Jose William, Marcial, Rosa Maria, Rita, Hilda Luz, German.
Prior to her illness, Jenny was very active within her church El Buen Samaritano.
Calling hours will be on Thursday April 18th, 2019 at the Hartford Community Funeral Home 380 Maple Ave. Hartford, CT 06114 from 6 to 8pm.
Burial will be private for the family.

Ella era la hija amada de los difuntos Joaquín Rivera Díaz y Serafina Castro Rivera de Humacao, Puerto Rico. Nacida en Humacao, Jenny se mudó a los Estados Unidos en los años 80 para crear una nueva vida para ella y sus hijos. A Jenny le sobreviven sus hijos Eric Joel Ortiz, su esposa Sandra y sus hijos Jeannalys y Eric, de East Hartford, CT. Su hija Joselyn Ortiz y sus hijos William, Nevaeh y Brian de Hartford CT. Su hijo Jayson Ortiz y su novio Ricardo Hildago. Y su hijo, Edwin Benítez de Springfield, MA. Además de sus hijos, a Jenny le sobreviven sus hermanas Nilda, Marciana, Zenaida y Carmen, sus hermanos Benito y Joaquín, y muchas sobrinas y sobrinos. Además de sus padres, Jenny falleció de pues de José William, Marcial, Rosa María, Rita, Hilda Luz, German.
Antes de su enfermedad, Jenny era muy activa dentro de su iglesia El Buen Samaritano.
El horario delfuneral será el jueves 18 de abril de 2019 en Hartford Community Funeral Home ubicada en 380 Maple Ave.Hartford, CT 06114 de 6 a 8 pm.
El entierro será privado para la familia.
