CHICOPEE – Robin L. “Rob” Campbell, 60, of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. He passed into Eternal Life at his home in Indian Orchard with his wife, Judy, by his side. He was born in Peebles, Scotland on January 15, 1959, a beloved son of Eleanor (Caine) Campbell of Edinburgh, Scotland and the late Ian E. Campbell. He was raised and schooled in Edinburgh, Scotland, immigrated to the United States in 2001 and became a citizen in 2012. He was a website developer and was the owner and operator of the Chicopee Web Company. In his leisure time, Robin enjoyed spending time playing pool with his friends; he was very good at pool. He was also a talented pianist, and could play any tune by ear. He loved to dote on his nieces and nephews; his very young American nephew loved trying to copy Uncle Robin’s Scottish accent. Like all Scotsmen, he adored the poetry of Robert Burns. Robin’s love for both his native country and his adopted country was profound. He fell in love with the American Constitution and the Founding Fathers as a child, and he was so proud to become an American citizen. No one has ever loved Scotland more than Robin did; no one has ever loved America more than Robin did. Those who were lucky enough to know and love Robin will miss his fierce independence, his kindness, his undying loyalty, his quick wit and charm, and of course, his beautiful and unforgettable voice. He leaves his loving wife and best friend, Judithann M. (Goonan) Campbell. They were married on July 22, 2006 at Saint Patrick Church in Chicopee Falls and were blessed with over 12 years of happiness together. In addition to his wife and mother, he also leaves his two dear sisters, Lesley Kragt and her husband, Geoff, and Alison Campbell; his dear father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Ann Goonan; his dear brother-in-law, Michael Goonan and his wife, Laurie; his cherished nephews and nieces, Oli, Jamie, and Caitlin Blackley, and Molly and Ryan Goonan; and his many dear cousins, friends and extended members of the Campbell, Caine and Goonan families. His family will receive friends on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
