Glorinda “Gloria” Boulay, 94

Glorinda “Gloria” (Scialoia) Boulay, age 94, of Norton, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 13, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Boulay, Sr., who died on March 1, 2000.
Born in Mansfield, MA on August 7, 1924, she was a loving daughter of the late Frank and Concetta (DeFronzo) Scialoia.
Gloria grew up and was educated in Mansfield. She was a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family and had also worked for ten years as an assembler at the former Texas Instruments in Attleboro.
Gloria’s cherished three generations of family were the main ingredient and favorite part of her life and at the time of her death was anticipating the birth of her 8th great grandchild. She also enjoyed socializing with her many close friends at Woodland Meadows in Norton and the simple pleasure of watching game shows at home and listening to country music.
Mrs. Boulay had made her home in Norton for the past forty years and when younger, attended Saint Mary’s Church with her family in Mansfield. Her hobbies included playing cards, bingo, scrabble, dancing, crossword puzzles, trips to local casinos and attending yard sales. She had a special love for the ocean and beaches and will always be remembered for her loyalty to the Boston Red Sox.
She is survived by her devoted children: Marlene A. Gray and her husband Donald of Norton, Janette L. Boulay of Attleboro, Karen A. Chandler of Rehoboth and Edward J. Boulay, Jr. of Norton. She was the dear sister of the late Rose Antosca, Mary Scialoia, Ida King, John Scialoia and Frank Scialoia. She is also survived by her loving 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 17th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street, Norton. Burial will follow at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 16th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
Following the burial services, Gloria’s family has extended an invitation for all to return to the function room at the Norton VFW, 38 Summer Street in Norton for refreshments and continued fellowship.
