Melissa Joy Malone, age 48, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2019, at UMass Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born on May 5, 1970, in Worcester, the daughter of Joanne (Gregarick) and the late Donald Malone. She was a graduate of South High School class of 1988 and attended Worcester State University. Melissa lived a colorful life, always with determination and perseverance. She loved simple pleasures including culinary arts, painting, swimming, ice skating, animals, music and outdoor activities.
Melissa was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt who unselfishly gave to others and will be dearly missed. Besides her loving mother, she leaves her siblings and their spouses, Brenda and Robin McGinnes, Deborah and Christopher Chapin, Donald and Jeanne Malone, Susan and John St. John, Daniel Malone and Brian Malone, aunts, uncle, cousins and her nieces and nephews.
Her family feels deep gratitude to the wonderful professionals who treated her with compassion and dignity.
Family, friends and those touched by Melissa are invited to join us for her funeral Mass at St Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street, Auburn on Friday, April 12 at 10 AM to celebrate her life.
