Chicopee – Doris J. (Vandal) Bednarz, aka Jeannette Doris Bednarz, age 93, passed away on April 3, 2019 at Willimansett Center West Nursing Home. She was born on October 1, 1925 in Chicopee, a daughter of the late Napoleon P. and Cecile A. (Aucoin) Vandal. Doris was a communicant of Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Assumption Church. She was a member of the Les Desfrancais. She is predeceased by her husband Andrew J. Bednarz, who passed away on May 30, 2012. She is survived by her daughter Sue Kennison and her husband Thomas of Las Vegas, NV; 3 grandchildren, Thomas Kennison Jr, Matthew Kennison nd Daniel Kennison and his wife Maria; 2 great grandchildren Emily and Jacob. Doris is predeceased by her daughter Diane Bednarz who passed in 2017 and also by her 2 brothers Marcel A. Vandal and Paul T. Vandal. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 9:00 AM in the Grise` Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Assumption Church at 10:00 AM.
