TEWKSBURY - Bruce W. “Joe” Viera, age 65, a former Tewksbury resident and Vietnam War Era Veteran, died Friday evening, March 29, at the Lowell General Hospital, following a brief illness, with his family at his bedside.
He was a son of the late Donald Viera Sr. and the late “Sally” (Fiore) Viera-Keenan, raised in Tewksbury, and had lived in the greater Lowell area throughout his life. He worked as a machinist when his health allowed.
He served in the U.S.A.F., assigned to Patrick A.F.B. in Florida, in the Civil Engineering Squadron as a Firefighter, and was honorably discharged in 1973.
He leaves a daughter, Joanne M. Viera of Lowell and her two children; his brother Francis Viera of FL; half-brothers, Frederick Keenan of Tewksbury, and Michael Keenan of Lowell; many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by his brother, Donald Viera Jr., and sister, Lila Paolucci.
Gravesides Services with Air Force Honors will be held at Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn in the Spring. Memorials to a charity supporting the Veterans organization of the donor’s choice are encouraged. visit: tewksburyfuneralhome.com
