KEERY, Constance FitzGerald Age 90, passed away peacefully in her home at White Cliffs in Plymouth surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Born on January 28, 1929 in Newton Massachusetts, she and her twin brother Charles (Woofy) were the 13th and 14th children of Evelyn and Grover FitzGerald. She graduated from Newton High School and was later married to Thomas D. Keery with whom she shared 54 years of love, happiness, and adventure. Together they had 5 children and raised their family in Weston, Massachusetts. Summers were spent in her beloved “Rotten House” on Sagamore Beach, where she enjoyed entertaining friends and hosting family gatherings. As her family continued to grow to include 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, (with four more currently “in the oven”), Connie and Tom, (a.k.a “Ga” and “Pa”) relocated from Weston to White Cliffs where they spent their summers. In 1989 they built “Sea Horse Villa”, their home in Christiansted, St. Croix in the U.S Virgin Islands, where they became residents. Beyond her “Dearest” Tom, her life focused on her family, her faith, and a full time pursuit of friendships wherever the world would take her. Her love of people, her faith in God, and her devotion to family is her legacy – and a gift to all who knew her.
Connie is survived by her daughter Lynne Ellis and husband Keith of Sagamore Beach, MA, son Thomas R. Keery II and wife Laura of Weston, MA, son in-law Gordon C. Russell of Wellesley Hills, MA, son David G. Keery and wife Nina of Newburyport, MA, and son Scott E. Keery and wife Carolyn of Plympton, MA.
She is also survived by 16 grandchildren - Keith Ellis and wife Maura, Christopher Ellis and wife Shannon, Keri Lata and husband Nick, David Ellis, Katherine Callahan and husband Andrew, Thomas D. Keery, II and wife Rachel, Barton Keery, Anna Keery, Buck Russell and wife Rebecca, Jonathan Russell, Caroline Whitmore and husband Alex, Joseph Keery, Lizzy Keery, Kate Keery, Emma Keery, and Courtney Keery, and the daughters of Carolyn Keery, Leigha and Lindsay Trask. Connie is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved greatly.
Connie was predeceased by her husband, Thomas D. Keery and her beloved daughter, Sandra K. Russell. She was also predeceased by her 13 brothers and sisters and was the last living member of a great generation of FitzGeralds, each of whom greatly enriched our lives.
