Nina Betty Sass, age 90, of Ojai CA passed away on March 24, 2019 at her daughter's home in Ojai. Nina was born in Michigan to Nina and Zolton Deak on August 22, 1928. She went to high school at Cass Technical School in Detroit Michigan where she studied art. She spent many afternoons sketching at the Detroit Museum of Art. She enjoyed sketching and painting and traveling throughout the country with her husband and cat to many places of natural beauty such as Alaska.
Nina is survived by her son George of Bakersfield, and her daughter Sheryl and husband Khaled Alawar, grandchildren Tania Parker and Tarek Alawar and great grandchildren Ily and Io Alawar. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Livingston Memorial Hospice Team. Private service will be held for the family.
