Crit Stivers, Jr., 84, of Fitzgerald, formerly of Tampa, Florida, died Friday, March 22, 2019 at Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 11AM, Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating.
Mr. Stivers was born January 29, 1935, in Logan, West Virginia to the late Crit Stivers, Sr. and Mollie Campbell. He was previously a coal miner with Rich Creek Coal Company in Rita, West Virginia. He also was employed at Bird’s Auto Service.
He is survived by his son, Darrel Stivers & Elisa of Mississippi; grandchildren, Amanda Jernigan & John of Fitzgerald, Scott Murray of Tampa, Florida, and Michelle & Jesse Stokely, Jr. of Mississippi; brother, Johnny Stivers of Cleveland, North Carolina; sister, Edith Meadows of Garner, North Carolina and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death two beloved daughters, Brenda Brooks and Sherry Stone, brother, Daniel Stivers, sisters, Nannie Workman, Fannie Newson Brumfield, Mary Ben and Lenoir “Kricket” Wells.
