Obituary

Edmund J. Quin, of Stoneham, formerly of Malden, Dennis and Medford, March 16th. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Cummings) Quin. Son of the late Francis and Blanche (Thomas) Quin. Father of Edmund J. Quin Jr. of Wakefield, the late Thomas Quin and his surviving wife Marian of West Newbury, Marybeth Johnston and her husband Kerry of Altamont, NY, Kathleen Roche and her husband Edward of Arlington and Theresa Quin of Jacksonville, FL. Grandfather of AJ Tanner, Hannah and Brady Quin, Stephen and Daniel Durant, Zack, Alex and Ian Johnston, Elizabeth MacEwen, James, John, Mary, Francis and Peter Roche, Amanda Hall, Brian Murphy and Tammy Pinkney. Great grandfather to 17. Brother of Gerard Quin and his wife Barbara of Marshfield Mary Bergeron of North Reading and the late Francis and Thomas Quin. Ed was born in Boston and graduated from Medford High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict . As a young man he worked at Hood Milk in Charlestown. After leaving Hood he began his career at the Middlesex County Sheriff's Department, retiring as a supervisor after 25 years of service. He was a former NHL Off Ice Official for the Boston Bruins and a Collegiate and High School sports official for over 30 years. Edmund was a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Irish American Association of Malden and past member of the Dennis Highlands Golf Club. Edmund served the City of Malden as City Councilor of Ward 5 for 8 years. The family of Edmund Quin would like to thank the staff of Bear Hill Nursing Home and Hallmark Health VNA & Hospice for the loving and compassionate care they gave Ed during the last chapter of his life. Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM, March 27th, Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden. Visitation for relatives and friends at the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden also on Wednesday, March 27th, 8:30-9:30 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Forest Dale cemetery in Malden.
