Larry P. Watson, 75, of Anderson, died March 18, 2019 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson.
He was born on December 11, 1943 in Beech Grove, Indiana the son of Philip and Thelma (Hartley) Watson. He was an Anderson resident most of his life and was a 1962 graduate of Anderson High School. He served in the US Navy and later was employed by Guide Lamp Division of General Motors for 39 years, retiring in 2003.
Larry was a member of the Fellowship Masonic Lodge #681, Indiana Bass Federation, serving as treasurer; UAW, serving as treasurer; past board member of Lampco and American Legion Post 127. He was a member of South Meridian Church of God and was involved in the mission trip to Hope, Kentucky in 2016. Larry loved to fish and spend time with his family. He enjoyed his service work at the state and national level with the Bass Federation and was instrumental in running the Bass Tournament for Camp Riley.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Watson of Fishers; 4 step children, Brandi Carlson of Daleville, Bobbie Joe (Matthew) Franson of Indianapolis; Michelle (Joe) Humphries of Alexandria; and Ryan (Meghan) VanAlst of Orland Park, IL; Special friend, Patricia DeLong and family of Anderson; nine grandchildren; brother, Ronald (Carol) Watson of Anderson, and sister, Cheryl (Bob) Garrett of Marietta SC; 4 nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Steve Wimmer officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 from 3 to 8 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:30 PM on Monday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to South Meridian Church of God or the donor's choice of charity.
