Lila L. Boney, 73, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Navicent Health in Macon. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Chip Grantham officiating. Mrs. Boney will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Born February 23, 1946 in Michigan, Mrs. Boney was the daughter of the late Ruth Chittenden. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Dick Baker. Before retiring, she and her husband owned and operated Tifton Home Center in Downtown Tifton. She enjoyed deep-sea fishing.
Mrs. Boney is survived by her husband, James R. “Jim” Boney of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Michelle Boney of Tifton; three daughters, Sabrina Thies and husband Steve of Muskegon, Michigan, Deidre McLean and Rik Arlen of Boston, Massachusetts and Laurie Boney of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Cullen Boney, Justin McLean, Katelyn McLean and Blake McLean; and a niece, Andrea Jonaitis.
