Dollie McKellar Crumley, 79, of Omega died Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley and the Rev. Joseph Crews officiating. Mrs. Crumley will be entombed in the family mausoleum at Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Hodge officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ben Crumley, Billy Crumley, Mike Gibbs, Berry McKellar, Jerry McKellar and Rayford Saunders will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Crumley, Jerry Crumley, Linda and Danny Royal and Tommy and Wilda Dorman.
Born October 10, 1939 in Worth County, Mrs. Crumley was the daughter of the late Joseph Henderson McKellar and Nellie Barfield McKellar. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. Before retiring, she was a registered nurse at Saint Joseph/Candler Hospital in Savannah for 40 years. She was a member of Lighthouse Harbor Worship Center. She was awarded the Homemaker of the Year by the Georgia Homemakers Association. She loved to paint pictures; loved cooking; gardening; canning vegetables; and, above all, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her family.
Mrs. Crumley is survived by her husband, Henry Robert Crumley, Jr. of Omega; one son and daughter-in-law, Henry Robert III “H. R.” and Robin Crumley of Omega; one daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Jennifer and Stephen Leatherwood of Savannah; one brother, Charles H. McKellar of Moultrie; two sisters, Ann Edmondson of Tifton and Louise Spotanski of Norman Park; one granddaughter, Mattie Leigh Crumley of Omega; and many nieces and nephews.
