Joanne M. Lomba, 76, of New Bedford died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Andre and Helen (Rosario) Lomba, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was employed at New Bedford City Hall in various roles for many years until her retirement.
Joanne enjoyed reading, coloring and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three children, Maria Amado and her husband Antero, Kenneth Tavares and his wife Jocelyn, and Jonathan Tavares and his companion Betsy Reyes; three grandchildren, Daniel Montrond, Jonathan Tavares, Jr., and Cadence Tavares; two sisters, Lelia Goncalves and Maryanne Lomba; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Daniel Lomba and Bernice DeAndrade.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
