Shirley Lou (Daniels) Theberge passed away at home in Fairhaven on Thursday, March 14, 2019 with her son by her side. Shirl was born in New Bedford the daughter of the late John and Margaret Daniels, and blessed with 88 years of life, love, and laughter. She is survived by her son, Stephen Jr. (Lisa Rahn), daughter Debra Pacheco, grandson Daniel Pacheco, granddaughter Sara Masotta (Dennis), great-granddaughter Delaney Masotta, and great-granddaughter Samantha Parker McCarthy, the apple of her eye. She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Theberge Sr., and beloved grandson, Richard Parker III.
Shirl loved the Celtics, the sea, and new experiences. She was employed as a school bus aide and was particularly gifted in working with special needs students. She loved helping people and served as a surrogate mother and grandmother to numerous friends of her children and grandchildren. She supported the St. Labre Indian School over many years.
The family would like to thank dear friends Patti and Brandon Estrella, manservant David Macomber, Mary Grisso, and the wonderful staff of Southcoast Visiting Nurses Association for their love and care of Shirl.
Please join us in celebrating Shirl’s life from 2 – 5 pm on Sunday, March 24th at Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Road, Route 6, Mattapoisett. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Southcoast VNA or the St. Labre Indian School.
