Worcester: Barbara Jane Hallback, 93, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She leaves a son Jeffrey Hallback and his wife Patricia of Oxford; a daughter Lynn Hoffman and her husband Victor of Westborough; and three grandchildren- Benjamin, Andrew and Christopher and his girlfriend Jill Gilfoyle. In addition, she leaves a sister-in-law Joane Hallback Watson and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Eric Hallback, a daughter and son-in-law Amy and Michael Greaney; and a sister and brother-in-law Olive and Roger Allen.
Barbara was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie (Sundquist) Guerin. She graduated from North High School and worked for many years as an administrative assistant at the former State Mutual Life Insurance Company. She also worked at the Crown Bakery. What she enjoyed most was spending time with her beloved family. Her happiest times included planning for the holidays, shopping, and going on family vacations. She lived in and raised a family in the home her husband had built more than 60 years ago.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center and the home care providers that helped make Barbara's end of life comfortable.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. Burial and committal will be private.
