Linda Cardwell Griffin, 70, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, March 17, 2019, at the Ocilla Church of God, with the Rev. Joshua Bowles, the Rev. Clayton Dowd and the Rev. Dewain Joiner officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Griffin was born March 18, 1948, in Gilmer, Texas to the late Fred & Miriam Hall Cardwell. She lived in the community all of her life. After graduating high school, she attended ABAC and Valdosta State and received her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Griffin was a homemaker, and a teacher at Headstart in Ocilla. She worked in food service at the Berrien County Jail and she loved baking wedding cakes. Mrs. Griffin was a member of the Ocilla Church of God.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Darold Griffin of Ocilla; four children: Troy Griffin & Heather of Lewisville, Texas, Trenton Griffin of Ocilla, Trever Griffin & Stacey of Ocilla and DeLynn Clark & Robert of Ocilla; grandchildren: Dane Griffin, Danielle Yeager, Ashlee Mullis, Ryan Clark, Cameron Odom and Justin Odom; great-grandchildren: Blake Yeager and Oliver Mullis and a brother, Leon Cardwell of Moultrie.
