Lugene McBrayer Wishum, 76, of Tifton passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at Pruitt Health Care in Ashburn. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Jay Kimbro and the Rev. Ray Turner officiating. Mrs. Wishum will be laid to rest at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 16, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born March 4, 1943 in Tift County, Mrs. Wishum was the daughter of the late Hubert McBrayer and Eunice Goff McBrayer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William L. Wishum; and one brother, Lyman McBrayer. Before retiring, she was the bookkeeper for Tift Health Care and various doctor’s offices. She loved family gatherings and spending time with family. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wishum is survived by one son, Randy Johnston of Ashburn; one daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and James Bolden of Lawrenceville; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Gloria McBrayer of Alapaha; one sister and brother-in-law, Eva and Wayne Welch of Moultrie; four grandchildren, Chris Bolden Sr., Priscilla Bolden, Larra Johnston and Hope Bolden; two great-grandchildren, Peyton Dunham and Chris Bolden Jr.; a special niece, Ashley Welch; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
