WORCESTER: Emma L. (Stadelmann) Nevins of 24 Arbutus Rd., died peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2005, in her home. Her husband of 33 years, William J. Nevins, died March 11, 1975.
She leaves four daughters, Elinor M. Stead and her husband Robert of Charlton, Martha A. Giard and her husband Pierre of Worcester, Mary F. Watkins and her husband David of St. Petersburg, Fla., Christine K. Nevins Bright and her husband Jeffrey of Wayland; a sister, Elinor Lambert of Vienna, Va.; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her wonderful caretaker, Marcia Evans. Four sisters and four brothers predeceased her. She was born and raised in Marlborough, daughter of the late Augustus and Mary (Bradshaw) Stadelmann, and graduated from Marlborough High School.
Emma worked as a secretary at the Worcester School Department until her retirement in 1983. She was a long time member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, traveling and playing cards with her friends.
CALLING HOURS will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, in OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY CHURCH, 25 Fales St. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster, Ma. The family suggests donations in Emma's memory be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church Memorial Fund, 23 Fales St., Worcester, Ma. 01606.
