Rose M. (Venezia) Gochakowski passed away on March 11, 2019 after a decade long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born on October 26, 1941 to Raffaele E. and Agnes T. (Hayes) Venezia. She was raised in Charlestown and attended Charlestown public schools, graduating from Charlestown High School. She married the love of her life, Ronald "Peewee" Gochakowski on July 4, 1960 and they celebrated 56 years of marriage together before his passing in April of 2017.
Rosie held many jobs over the years, including Fleet Bank, retiring from Foodmaster, but her most cherished job was that of being a Mom, and she devoted herself to her family. She vacationed at Sebago Lake every summer with her children and later spent 19 summers camping at Sandy Beach in New Hampshire. She was a member of the Golden Age Center after her retirement.
Rosie is predeceased by her husband, Ronald. She leaves behind her children Ronald J. Gochakowski, Jr. and his wife Victoria of Brookline; Ralph Gochakowski and his wife Joyce of Revere; Rose Oliveira and her husband Joseph of Peabody and Robin Reale and her husband George of Salem. She was a devoted Nana to Christopher Gochakowski, Joseph Gochakowski and Olivia ("Yaya") Reale. She is also survived by her brothers, Ralph, John, Alfred, Joseph and Francis Venezia, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Rose's funeral on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 8:30 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 9:30 A.M. Her burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Her visiting hours will be on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. .
