Fall River – Doris R. (LaFerriere) Jalbert, 82, of Westport, died Friday, December 30, 2005 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late William C. Jalbert.
She was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Edward and Rose (Messier) LaFerriere, and had resided in Westport for over 50 years. Prior to her retirement, she was a sewing machine operator for various knitting mills in the area. Mrs. Jalbert was a Communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. She was a former member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
She is survived by a son: William R. Jalbert of Westport; a daughter: Elaine Wood of Dartmouth; 4 grandsons: William E. Jalbert, Robert A. Jalbert, Joseph J. Wood and Barry C. Wood; a niece: Donna M. Luz; and 2 nephews: Edward LaFerriere and George LaFerriere.
She was the sister of the late George LaFerriere, Mary Ferreira and Helen LaFerriere.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Tuesday 5 – 8 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
