Janet M. (Liarikos) Loranger, 82, of New Bedford passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness surrounded by her daughters and best friend. She was the wife of the late Marcel A. Loranger, who was the love of her life.
She was the daughter of the late George F. and Jean (Panek) Liarikos.
Janet was not an avid New England sports fan, but she loved cooking for her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn J. Frates and her husband Richard, and Lisa J. Loranger; her grandchildren, Richard J. Frates III, and Thomas M. Frates and his wife Melanie; her great-grandson, Thomas M. Frates, Jr.; her brother, George Liarikos and his wife Joan; her sister-in-law, Barbara Loranger; her brother-in-law, Gilbert Loranger and his wife Joyce; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by her son, Michael A. Loranger and her brother, John Liarikos.
Janet's family would like to give a special thank you to her best friend, Nancy Loranger and her niece and nephew, Jo-Ann and David O'Malley.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10 AM at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church. Visiting hours are omitted. A family burial service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
