Deborah F. Nutter, 88, of Derry, NH died Thursday December 29, 2005 in the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH following a brief illness. Mrs. Nutter was born in Greene, ME on January 5, 1917 a daughter of the late Edward and Winifred (Turner) Furbush. She had been a resident of Derry for the past 42 years, formerly living in Portland, ME. She was an active volunteer on the local scene, being a member of the Derry Planning Board, Southern NH Planning Commission, and past chairman of the Derry Conservation Commission. She was also a volunteer counselor of the Rockingham Hospice. She served as Parliamentarian and past secretary of the NH Federation of Garden Clubs, Past Chairman and Secretary of the NH Judge’s Council and Past President of the Derry Garden Club. She was also a master flower show judge and a landscape design master critic.
She is survived by six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh Nutter in 1977, her daughter, JoAnn Dawdy in 1997 and by her son, Lance Nutter in 2000.
Calling hours were on Tuesday January 3rd from 12 – 2:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral service was held at 2:00pm in the funeral home. Cremation followed. Private burial will be held in the Spring in Greene, ME.
