Ronnie Bennett, 67, of Tifton passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Jimmie Hinson and the Rev. Charlene Griffin officiating. Mr. Bennett will be laid to rest at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 10, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
David McBrayer, John McBrayer, Scott Harnage, Jon McLean, Austin Harnage and Andrew Harnage will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Mauldin, Robbie McBrayer, Larry McBrayer, Don Williams and Kevin McBrayer.
Born August 27, 1951 in Cook County, Mr. Bennett was the son of the late Myrtle Bennett. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Miles. Before retiring, he was a heavy equipment operator and he was a member of Lenox Christian Fellowship Church.
Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife, Janice McBrayer Bennett; one daughter, Susan Giddens of Tifton; two brothers, Charles Bennett and Raymond Bennett, both of Valdosta; three grandchildren, Heather McLean, Katie Bennett and Ross Bennett; and one great-grandchild, Perrin McLean.
