Graveside services for Dorothy Hazeleen Luke will be held Sunday, March 10, 2019, at 2:15 PM in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia. Mrs. Luke was a lifetime resident of Fitzgerald, Georgia; she died at the Navicent Medical Center of Macon, Georgia, on Friday, March 8, 2019. Graveside services will be officiated by Rev. Annette Brooks.
Mrs. Luke was born June 24, 1925, in Irwinville, Georgia, to the late Steven Isam Musselwhite (Robeson County, North, Carolina) and Jessie Dean Griffin (Irwin County, Georgia). She worked at Kaminsky Pants Factory for over 30 years. Mrs. Luke loved the outdoors, gardening, fishing, crocheting, quilting, cooking, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Luke was a woman who grew up in hard times, but still was a loving mother who taught her children how to create and appreciate lovely things. She was a member of Pine Level Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Sumner & Roger of Ocilla, a granddaughter, Laura; two great grandchildren: Maggie and Lilli; a son Ronnie Luke & Gail of Byron; grandsons: Andrew and Matthew; great-grandchildren: Hampton and Eloise; a brother, Edward Musselwhite of Algonquin, Illinois. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Allen Luke, a daughter, Ruby Luke Prescott and five siblings: Rufus, Elliott, Theodora, Vareen and Robert Musselwhite.
