Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, N. Easton at 9 am. Obituary
Miss Twomey of North Easton, formerly of Washington, D.C. died Tuesday at the New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton following a period of failing health. Born in Detroit, she was the daughter of the late Frank S. and Alice C. (McGlincy) Twomey. She was a graduate of Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Ohio and Connecticut College, with a degree in Nutrition and Institutional Management.
In 1942 she went to Washington, D.C. where she helped to open the food service at the Pentagon. Miss Twomey held various positions in Government Services, Inc., a company under contract to provide food and recreational facilities to the Federal government. She eventually supervised the operation of 60 government cafeterias until her retirement in 1978. While living in Washington, D.C.
Miss Twomey was active in The Connecticut College Alumni Association and served as association President several times.
Miss Twomey is survived by a sister, Doris Downey of North Eastonand several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Alice K. Brock
