Alice M. Green, 84, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Friday, March 8, 2019, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, March 10, 2019, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, with the Rev. George Carroll Paulk and the Rev. Gary Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverbend Cemetery, in Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 3 PM until 4 PM at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Green was born July 13, 1934, in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late William Brent & Mary Jane Grantham McLemore. She lived in the community all of her life and worked as a CNA for Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home, the Osceola Nursing Home and Public Health Home Health. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains, singing gospel music and cooking. She will be remembered for her dressing and Brunswick stew. Mrs. Green was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, sang specials and taught Sunday School.
She is survived by her children: Jane Bristol, Linda Ann Green, Kay Vickers, Beth Williams & Doug, and Norman Green, all of Ocilla; grandchildren: Lee Green, Anna Maddox & Clay, Norman Taylor & Kim, Dyan Merrifield & Craig, Kyle Nyberg & Brette, Matthew Green & Melanie, and Jordan Green & Shanna; as well as numerous blessed great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Green; two grandchildren, Alison Faith Nyberg and William Brent Taylor; a sister, Elise Deberry and two brothers: Clyde McLemore and Dick Grantham.
