FALL RIVER… Joao L. Silva, 61, of Fall River passed away March 4, 2019 at his home.
He was the husband of Maria Lourdes (Oliveira) Silva of Fall River.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Alfredo and Conceicao (Oliveira) Silva and had lived in Fall River for the past 40 years.
Mr. Silva was a member of Christ the Rock Church in Fall River and had worked as a Carpenter, once owning his own business. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and dominos and above all, spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughters: Wendy Silva of Swansea and Crystal Horrocks of Fall River; his son: Tyler Silva of Fall River; his sisters: Connie Ramos, Helen Oliveira and Jenny Teves, all of Fall River; his brothers: Armondo Silva of the Azores, Daneil Silva of Fall River and John Silva of Fall River; his grandchildren: Javontae, Dominick, Cadyn, Kayleb and Heaven; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Antonio Duarte Silva and Alfredo Silva.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday, March 11, 2019 at 10 AM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02723 followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 – 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
