Nicholas R. Taddeo passed away peacefully at the Holy Family Hospital. He was 74. A proud South Medford resident, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (DeAngelo) Taddeo. Nick worked for many years as a welder at the Charlestown Navy Yard. He was a prolific figure in South Medford sports as an umpire with little league and soft ball. Nick was a proud husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed the company of his family and many friends. He lived in the home which was owned by his family for over 100 years. He was a devoted member of the Medford lodge of the Order of the Sons of Italy in America. He will be sadly missed by those who knew him.
The beloved husband of Eleanor F. (Williams) Taddeo, he was a devoted father of Frank J. Taddeo of Revere, Sandra Ziegler and her husband Scott of Methuen, Jason Taddeo of Methuen and his late twin brother Nicholas R. Taddeo, Jr. and Nicholas Amatangelo of Whitman. Nick was a loving grandfather to Shawn Ziegler and his wife Amanda Paone of Medford, Alessandra Ziegler and her fiancé Robert Ferragamo of Medford, Justin and Zachary Ziegler and Justin McInerney all of Methuen as well as a loving great-grandfather of Sophia, Alaina, Olivia, Melanie and Bianca Paone.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, March 11 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Sunday 4 – 8 PM.
