SOMERSET - Mary (Mello) Miranda, 85, of 444 Wilbur Ave., Somerset, MA. formerly of Eddy Lane, Somerset, MA., died Thursday at her home. She was the wife of the late John P. Miranda. She is survived by two Daughters: Tina Gauthier of Somerset, MA. and Linda Phillips of Easton, MA.,One Sister: Mrs. William (Hilda) Stacey of Ohio. One Granddaughter and Several nieces and nephews She was also mother of the late John Miranda, and sister of the late Joseph S., Manuel S., Adelino S., John S. and Alvarinho S. Mello.
Born in Fall River the daughter of the late Joseph S. Mello and the late Christina (Da Silva) Mello. She was a Somerset resident for over 20 years. Before retiring, she was a Self-Employed Co-owner and founder, along with her husband of Westport Fruit Mart, and lastly Miranda Imports. She was a parishoner of St. John of God Church and also a member of its Holy Rosary Sodality. She was also a Volunteer for Hospice Outreach for many years.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, MA on Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave., Somerset, MA. at 10:00 A.M. Internment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset, MA.
