Pauline ‘Polly’ Lucille Davis, 97, formerly of Oxford, MA, passed away February 28, 2019.Pauline was born to George Trembley and Mary Tedford, on March 13, 1921 in Boston, Massachusetts. She married Harold M. Davis in Worcester Massachusetts January 17, 1942, and their last home was in Oxford, Massachusetts. Together they raised one child.
Harold and Polly were married 58 years when he died May 3, 2000. She leaves as her legacy, her daughter, Sharon P. Davis of Cottonwood, Arizona. She also leaves to cherish her memory 4 grandchildren, Ronald, Lisa (and husband Tim Woodrum), Kim and Shelly, 3 great-grandchildren, Matthew, David and Devan and 5 great-great grandchildren, Joshua, Abigail, Felistas, Audrianna and Isaac as well as two nephews, Chauncey Depew Jackson II with his wife Diane, and Dovard Charles Jackson with his wife Kaye and their family of Huntsville, Alabama. Her family remember her as a woman who has always been young at heart, fun-loving and the life of the party.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold M. Davis, her sister Alice Mary Jackson and brother-in-law, Chauncey Depew Jackson. Polly enjoyed working at J. J. Newberry in Worcester, using her artistic and charismatic personality to sell her wares in the music department until she retired and tended to her family and home. Polly was a member of the Oxford Methodist Church since 1984, enjoying participating in activities such as helping with the Church Clock. For the recent three years, she has resided with her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Lisa and Tim Woodrum in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She enjoyed visiting the Senior Center, Magnolia Manor. Her favorite activities there were Bingo and harmonizing with the guest musicians. Also, she loved being part of the First Baptist Church family where she greatly enjoyed the fellowship, the Word and the choir music.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday March 9 at 11 AM in the Robert J. Miller-Oxford Funeral Home, 247 Main Street, Oxford Mass. Her grandson-in-law, Tim Woodrum will officiate the ceremony. The family requests that in place of flowers, donations/checks be made to Magnolia Manor at 141 Barks Drive, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547. The family would like to thank Covenant Hospice for the professional and loving care they gave and also Magnolia Manor for loving Polly and making her feel so valuable, as did the numerous friends she made in Fort Walton Beach. Thank you to all loved ones in Florida and Massachusetts!
