Robert Borges, 82, of Dartmouth died March 5, 2019 at the Oaks Nursing Home.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Julius Borges, Jr. and Adeline (Almeida) Borges, he lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth most of his life.
He was formerly employed by Commonwealth Electric for 16 years until his retirement in 1997.
Survivors include his 2 brothers, James Borges of Dartmouth and Frederick Borges of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Joan Garganta of Florida and Barbara Francis of Rochester; a grandson, Kenneth Borges of Fairhaven; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was the father of the late Kenneth Borges and Mark Borges and the companion of the late Violet Dias.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 11th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His family will receive guests on Monday from 10:30-11 AM prior to his service. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
