Martha “Pauline” Smoot Hobbs, 90, of Tifton passed away Monday, March 4, 2019, in Cornelia. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Mark Hupp officiating. Mrs. Hobbs will be laid to rest at Salem Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, March 8, 2019, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Born August 19, 1928 in Ocilla, Mrs. Hobbs was the daughter of the late Joseph Wheeler Smoot and Sallie Ethel Peek Smoot. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Shepard Hobbs.
Mrs. Hobbs is survived by one son, Gary Hobbs of Cornelia; her grandsons and their spouses, Gary Vaughn Hobbs, Jr. (Connie) of Hiawassee, Justin Matthew Hobbs (Tara) of Cornelia and Benjamin Grant Hobbs (Amy) of Mt. Airy; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
