Obituary

Marilyn M. Driscoll-McKay, 91, of Derry, NH, died Sunday March 3, 2019, in Aurora Senior Living, Derry. She was born in Wakefield, MA on August 20, 1927, a son of Walter and Inez (Berkholtz) Cook. Marilyn was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved the Lord. She greatly enjoyed crafts, every holiday or birthday she would always make homemade cards for everyone. She also enjoyed reading, puzzles, embroidery and skiing when she was younger. She loved antiques, her husband would restore antique boxes, rocking chairs, rocking horses and doll houses. Marilyn would stencil these with new designs, bringing them back to their former beauty. She was an extremely helpful person and was known as a 'mother hen,' even in the nursing home. She would volunteer with the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Brownies as well as the gift shop of her church and the thrift shop of downtown Derry.

She is survived by son, Richard P. Driscoll, Jr. of Hampstead, NH; daughter, Lori Lyn Ormond of Derry, NH; five grandchildren, Kelly, Katie, Caroline, Ryan and William; brother, Robert Cook and two nephews, Danny and Scott Cook. Marilyn is predeceased by her first husband, Richard P. Driscoll and her son, David Michael Driscoll.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 4pm to 5pm in the First Baptist Church, 44 E. Broadway, Derry. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., NH Affiliate PO Box 31160 Hartford, CT 06150-1160.
