Barbara F. O’Connell, 76, of 150 Blueberry Lane died June 25, 2002 in the Lakes Region General Hospital after a very brief illness. She was born in Cambridge MA on January 13, 1926, the daughter of Addison and Flora (McPhee) Files and had resided in Laconia all of her life.
A devoted homemaker, she was a very loving mother. Mrs. O’Connell was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of both VFW Post # 1670 and the American Legion Post #1.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Francis G. O’Connell in March of 1993.
Family members include eight children: Kathleen Holland of Laconia, Maureen O’Connell of Laconia, Colleen Marquis of Tilton, Francis O’Connell of Winchendon MA, Daniel O’Connell of Belmont, Erin O’Connell of Laconia, Jane Goupil of Laconia and Ryan O’Connell of Havre de Grace, MD; 16 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Lary of Canaan NH and Nancy Remacle of Newport NH; nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A Memorial service was held in St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St. on Saturday, June 29th at 10 AM. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor officiated. Urn burial followed in St. Lambert Cemetery.
