FALL RIVER – John O. “Sharky” Santos, age 93 of Fall River, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 in the comforts of his home with his beloved family by his side. He was the loving husband of the late Rita T. (McCarthy) Santos and the son of the late Amos and Evelyn (Correira) Santos. Prior to retiring, John worked for Brayton Point Power Plant as a Foreman. He was also a Union member of Local 610.
John was a US Army Veteran of World War II where he was honorably discharged as a “Tech Corporal”. He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Montaup Country Club.
Survivors include his daughter: Evelyn Santos Ferreira of Fall River; siblings: Amos Oliveira and Almarinda “Alma” Blais; grandchildren: Jason Barboza, Daniel Ferreira Jr., and Ashley Ferreira; great grandchildren: Shawn Pilkington and Ava DaSilva; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog: Buddy.
John was the father of the late John F. Santos Jr. and the brother of the late Manuel “Manny” Santos, Antone “Sixteen” Santos, Noel “Sonny” Santos, Alexandrina “Lillian” Custodio, Irene Ruddy, Georgina “Jerry” Beene, and Beatrice “Pee Wee” Lima.

John’s funeral service will take place in the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main Street, Fall River on Thursday, March 7th at 10:30 A.M. Interment with Military Honors in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Wednesday, March 6th from 6-8 P.M.
