Obituary

Anna (McElroy) Marston, a lifelong Needham resident died on Wednesday, December 28 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. She was 76 years old. She was a Needham resident all of her life until January of this year when she moved with her husband to Amherst to be closer to their daughter. Mrs. Marston was a graduate of Needham High School Class of 1947. She worked as an Executive Secretary at Babson College and later became a real estate broker. She was a G.R.I. graduate and worked as a broker for Akers Bowen Burnham and Bergin of Needham. A Past President of the Junior New Century Club, Mrs. Marston also served as Chairman of the Cancer Crusade and Heart Fund Drives. She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church and was a member of the church Choir for over 42 years. Mrs. Marston was a member of the Medfield Concert Choir for 20 years. A volunteer for the Needham Council on Aging, she was also the secretary of the Easter Seal Stroke Club (Greater Boston Stroke Club). Mrs. Marston was an associate member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board and Council “O” Brokers Institute. The beloved wife for 56 years of Ernest W. “Bud” Marston, she was the loving mother of Linda L Marston of Amherst, Cynthia M. Figueiredo of Riverside, CA and Glenn A. Marston of Roslindale. She was the sister of Thomas J. McElroy of Marshfield, Richard A. McElroy of So Dennis, Lt. Col John A, McElroy Retired of San Antonio TX and the late Frank R. McElroy and Charlotte Haley. Also survived by 5 grandchildren. Funeral Services at the Christ Episcopal Church 1132 Highland Ave Needham on Sat. Dec. 31st at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Friday 4-7 PM. Interment Needham Cemetery.
