Benny Grice, 76, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, March 1, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 4PM, Sunday March 3, 2019, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with Minister Michael Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2PM until 4PM at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Grice was born June 28, 1942, in Rebecca, Georgia to the late Lewis & Thelma McLemore Grice. Mr. Grice was an active member of the Fitzgerald Church of Christ for over 50 years. Playing music formed an important part of Mr. Grice’s life and he loved to play guitar, fiddle, mandolin, strumstick, and in the last several years focused on banjo and dobro.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Grice of Fitzgerald; children, David Grice & JoDee of Fitzgerald, and Ben Grice & Courtney of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Ella Grice, Isaac Grice, Cohen Grice, Joshua Grice, Lizzie Grice, and Cash Grice; brother, Floyd Grice of Valdosta; sister, Florence Minshew of Fitzgerald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Grice, Bernard Grice and a sister, Thelma Joyce Grice Moore.
