Gwynedd Ewing Tucker, 95, of Ocilla, Georgia, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Frank Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia, with Elder Edward McIntyre officiating and Karen Luke Jackson delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Frank Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery after the graveside service.
Mrs. Tucker was born October 5, 1923, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Franklin Eugene & Della Van Whitley Ewing. She graduated from Ocilla High School and had a degree in cosmetology. Mrs. Tucker lived in the community all of her life and was a wife, homemaker and mother. She served alongside her husband as a preacher’s wife and she enjoyed golfing, fishing, painting and quilting. Mrs. Tucker was a member of Frank Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Deborah Tucker Trantham & Al of Clallam Bay, Washington, Terry Elliotte Tucker of Ocilla and Dale Tucker Broome & J.M. of Ocilla; grandchildren: Trey Trantham, Trent & Brandy Tucker, Travis Trantham, Todd Tucker and Della & Kyle Farmer and great-grandchildren: Trista Tucker, Elliotte Farmer, Willow Farmer and Paxton Tucker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Elder Elliotte S. Tucker; brothers: Eugene Ewing, Jack Ewing, Waldo Ewing and H. A. “Bud” Ewing and sisters: Lillian Davis, Lora Fletcher, Mary Lou Irby and Lucille Roberts.
