Judith Ann Ciampa (Cabral)
Devoted wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother

Judi Ciampa (Cabral), age 62, a longtime resident of Wilmington and Tewksbury passed away February 25, 2019 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston following a tough battle with cancer.

She was the first child of Christina E. Cabral (Morrison) and the late Melvin L. Cabral, born in Cambridge on January 8, 1957. The Cabral’s lived in Cambridge until 1965 at which time they relocated to Tewksbury, MA. Judi would graduate Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1974. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Ciampa. They celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on September 22nd this past year.

Judi would continue her education, earning her LPN at the Tewksbury State Hospital School of Nursing. She loved working as a nurse, caring for patients during her career at Choate Hospital in Woburn and Blair House in Tewksbury.

Judi and Bobby settled into their first home in Wilmington in 1980 and enjoyed traveling in the early years of their marriage, from cruises to Cape Cod. Their most important trip together would be to Colombia, South America to adopt their son Zachary. Judi would return a few years later in to bring home their daughter, Aliana.

She dedicated her life to raising her children. They lived in Wilmington, MA for over twenty years and loved their summer vacations to the cape. Judi was very active and engrossed in her family life. She loved volunteering her time with the Wilmington Youth Hockey booster club and Girl Scouts of America, both playing a major role in her children’s upbringing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Aliana Ciampa; son, Zachary Ciampa, his wife Jayme and daughter Eviana; her brother, Bruce Cabral; her mother Christina Cabral; also many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Calling hours are Monday, March 4th, from 5-8 p.m. at the Farmer and Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin Tuesday, March 5th at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, general donations can be made in her memory to the Lung Cancer Research at https://www.cancerresearch.org/join-the-cause/donate/one-time-donation or the Arthritis Research at https://curearthritis.org/general-tribute-donation/ .
