Diana E. Lannon (nee Ethel B. Kearney), age 94, of Mashpee, MA., passed away peacefully at her home with family on Saturday, February 23, 2019. Diana enjoyed a long, very social and wonderfully active life right to her final hours. She was one-of-a-kind; independent, strong-willed, full of humor, impeccably dressed and always ready to strike up a lively conversation. Her quick wit and zest for life will be remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.
Diana was raised on Baker Street in West Roxbury, the daughter of Michael and Mildred Kearney, along with brother Billy and sister Claire. She graduated from Mt. Ida Jr. College, raised a family in Randolph, MA, and eventually moved to Brookline, MA. where she was a successful, exceptionally talented interior decorator for many years. Along the way she travelled the world, met fascinating people and experienced things far beyond her West Roxbury roots. Upon retirement, Diana moved to Cape Cod (Stratford Ponds, Mashpee, MA) to be near family, friends, and her soon-to-be-many wonderful new friends of all ages whom she shared many adventures. Most often with a glass of wine or cocktail in hand.
Diana leaves behind her daughters Linda Lannon (and son-in-law Michael Terry of Corral de Tierra, CA) and Judy Lannon (and son-in-law Ron Kusins of Orleans, MA), her son Michael Lannon (and daughter-in-law Mary Obana of Orleans, MA), and her sister Claire Twitchell (Cotuit, MA). Diana was also blessed to have loving relationships with her cherished grandchildren (Kate, Michael, Steffanie and Kai), her great grand-daughters (Kayla and Shane), and most recently her new great-great grand-daughter (Scotty). Plus, many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and more, with all of whom she shared many special times.
Per Diana’s request, there will be a simple private graveside service for her immediate family at the Kearney plot in Harwich port MA. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes your thoughts and fond memories which can be posted here in the Casper Funeral Services guestbook or by contacting the family directly at [email protected].
