Robert E. Ouellette, 90 of Westport died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at St. Anne's Hospital. He was husband of the late Jean F. (Gorham) Ouellette.
Born in Westport, son of the late Louis J. and Marie L. (Masse) Ouellette, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. Prior to WWII, he worked in the family carpentry business and upon returning from the war he worked at J&J Corrugated Box Company where he worked for over 26 years. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper for the 82nd Airborne. Mr. Ouellette was a Past Commander of the W A & R Ouellette VFW Post 8502, a member of American Legion James Morris Post 145, a former member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Memorial Color Guard Chapter 207 of Westport and the Fall River Widow and Widowers Group. He was also a former Communicant of St. George Church, Westport.
Survivors include his son: Daniel R. Ouellette of Westport; a brother: Armand Ouellette of Rockland, MA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was brother of the late Arthur, Wilfred "Tony", Rene "Mick", Albert and Henry Ouellette, Beatrice Hebert, Delia Gagnon and Eva Sullivan.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Potter Funeral Home at 4:00 PM.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1 - 3:30 PM prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
