Obituary

John J. “Johnny” “Jon Jon” Carapezza, 78, of Walpole died unexpectedly February 24 at Norwood Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
He was the husband of Geraldine (Carroll) Carapezza.
Born in Boston, April 11,1940, he was the son of the late Joseph and Sarah (DiPietro)Carapezza.
John had been a salesman for Lechmere Sales and Sozios for many years.
Johnny loved writing, taking photos of his family and celebrating at family events. He enjoyed traveling and vacationing all over the world. Johnny especially loved being around his grandchildren. He always enjoyed going for rides, trips to dine at Applebee’s and was fond of getting milkshakes.
He served in the Air Force during the early 1960’s, attaining the rank of Airman Second Class.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his step-children, Karen A. Barbosa of Fall River, Thomas Gillis, Jr. of Northboro Jim Gillis of West Roxbury and Ken Gillis of West Roxbury.
He was the father of Joseph, Deborah, Rhonda, Carla and Christine.
He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will b held on Friday, March 1 in the Ginley Funeral Home(www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main Street, Walpole from 10:00-11:30.
Graveside services will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:15p.m.
