Obituary

Charles G. Caban, 65, of New Bedford passed away Sunday February 24, 2019 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Myrtice Rene Williams-Caban.

Born in New Bedford, the son of Mercedes G. (Robles) Caban and the late Electerio Caban, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

Charles was formerly employed in the Maintenance Department at the Paul A. Dever State School until his retirement. He later worked for Peabody Properties.

He was a graduate of New Bedford High School where he was a member of the soccer team. He enjoyed soccer and bowling. He was a member of the Y.A. Club. He had served in the Army Reserve.

He is survived by his wife Myrtice; his mother Mercedes; five children, Lisa Caban, Cory Caban, Rishona Christian, Regina Christian, and Richard Henderson Jr.; his siblings, David Feliciano and Lillian Caban; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was the grandfather of the late Ashley Caban.
