Patricia E. (Kennedy) Gover, a resident of Stoneham and formerly of Malden and Somerville, entered into eternal life on February 25, 2019 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. She was 89 years of age.
Patricia was born in Medford on December 24, 1929, a daughter of the late Joseph S. Kennedy and Mary (Devine) Kennedy. She grew up in Somerville where she was educated in the Somerville Public School system and graduated from Somerville High School. Patricia was a homemaker throughout her life, taking care of her beloved family.
Patricia is the beloved wife of the late retired Somerville Fire Department Deputy Chief, Robert L. Gover. She is the devoted mother of Mary and Robert Reardon, retired Boston Firefighter Robert and Joanne Gover, Daniel and Carol Gover, Patricia and William Stoney, retired Massport Fire Department Captain Timothy and Kathleen Gover, Somerville Fire Department Captain Girard and Catherine Gover, Ronald and Christine Gover, Annette Clooney, Christopher and Kate Gover, William Gover and husband Marcus Fenner, and the late Joanne Reardon and her surviving husband Joseph. She is the loving Nana to 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Ellen Gay, Joan Davis, and the late Mary Hobin, Winifred O'Leary, Marguerite DiPietro, Ann MaGuire, and Bernadette Doe. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St. Stoneham on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 9 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 A.M. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 4 to 7 P.M. Interment, Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
